UGC NET DECEMBER 2014 NOW COUNDUCTED CBSE NET

  Central Board of Secondary Education announces helding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 28th Dec 2014 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian universities and colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 79 subjects at 89 selected NET Coordinating Institutions spread across the country.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.



CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :
i)  
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC (list attached page No. 17 to 41) in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. (list of subjects of post graduation attached at page No. 42 to 43) are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
ii)  
Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of Junior Research Fellowship/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC (Non-creamy layer)/ SC/ ST/ PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
iii)  
The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the respective Coordinating Institution opted by the candidate (with fee receipt & category certificate(s) 25th November, 2014

The fee can be remitted in the following ways:

• Through eChallan by deposit of prescribed fees in CBSE Account with Syndicate Bank, ICICI and Canara Bank.

• By Debit/Credit Card.
4. Application Procedure: 4 Simple Steps to be followed to apply online
Step 1: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down system generated Roll Number The candidate should supply all the details while filling the Online Application Form and also required to choose PASSWORD and Security Question and enter his/her Answer. After successful submission of the data, Roll number will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and also required for all future correspondence. For subsequent logins, candidate will be able to login directly with his/her respective system generated Roll Number and chosen Password.
Step 2: Upload Scanned Photograph

  • The scanned images of photograph should be in JPG format.
  • Size of the photo image must be greater than 4 kb and less than 40 kb.
  • Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm(width) * 4.5 cm(Height) only
Step 3: Pay Examination Fee by echallan or debit/credit card:

For Payment by Syndicate Bank/ ICICI/ Canara Bank challan: The candidate has to select bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI) to deposit the application fee through e-Challan mode. As soon as he/she selects, an e-Challan will be generated containing specific details of the candidate along with amount to be paid. The candidate has to take a printout of the same and take it to the nearest branch of the selected bank for making payment. After the confirmation of fee deposited from Bank/CBSE, the candidate will be able to print the Filled Application Form, Attendence Slip and Admission Card.

Payment by Debit/Credit Card:The candidate has to select Debit/Credit Card option to pay the application fee and follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Filled Application Form, Attendence Slip and Admission Card. .
Step 4: Download the Filled Application Form, Attendence Slip and Admission Card and send/deposit it to the Coordinating Institute.
Important Note :  It may kindly be noted that the documents listed below at Sl.No.s 1 to 5 must be sent to Registrar/Principal of the Coordinating Institute as to reach on or before 25.11.2014.
  1. Print the filled Application Form, affix the identical passport size photographs in the space provided, put your signatures at the required places and send/deposit to Registrar/Principal of the Coordinating Institute.
  2. Copy of the Bank eChallan (Coordinating Institute copy), if fee paid through eChallan
  3. Attendance Slip duly signed with photograph (One copy).
  4. Attested copies of SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PWD)/OBC (Non creamy layer) certificates, in case applicable.
  5. Certificate of educational qualification/research experience, in case applicable, entitling the candidate for age relaxation, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer.
