Smt. Vijaya Kanth, FC (Railways), launched the IRASTIMES website in
Railway Board today at 11:00 hours. The new website would be fully
commissioned within 48 hours of the launch. The site has been built from
scratch and is equipped with several new features. All users will have
to necessarily log in using their Master ID (can check from the
directory)which will be the username and old password. A bulk mail is
also being sent to all officers whose email id is in the system,
informing them of their userid and password. The remaining officers can
mail a request to the webmaster for the same. All users can themselves
upload professional articles, non-professional (Magazine) articles on
their own and the same will be reflected on the site after approval.
Officers can also upload regional events with photographs. Another new
feature is Railway Vacation Places which is being populated with data of
Railway Rest Houses in exotic desitnations. Officers who visit Railway
rest-houses can click pictures and load the same onto the site along
with a review for the benefit of other officers. IRAS Chirp has been
created as a IRAS informal chat area. Users can register and start
chatting right away. PNR status has a direct link to the PNR server for
updated ticket information. A photo gallery has also been provided for
uploading of photographs by members and sharing with the IRAS
fraternity.The Directory is still being updated and all users are
requested to update their own records regularly.
