Sabarimala is the most visited pilgrim centre in Kerala. The number of devotees to Sabarimala is increasing every year exponentially. Kerala Police is responsible for the crowd management of the pilgrims visiting Sabarimala during the pilgrimage season starting from October to January. This year, Kerala Police has further improved and refined the Application Software and introduced a new Web Portal for Virtual Queue in Sabarimala. These services will be made available on www.sabarimalaq.com which will be on Cloud Environment. Devotees from all over the world who propose to visit Sabarimala will benefit by this portal. It will have more details, information and guidelines which are very useful for the Sabarimala Pilgrims, with multi language support.

While registering, the pilgrims have to furnish their name, age, address, photograph, details of photo identity card, etc. The date and time of joining the queue can be chosen by the pilgrim according to the availability of hourly slots. The Virtual-Q Coupon contains the date & time of darshan, name and photograph of the pilgrim, barcode, etc. During the pilgrimage the pilgrims are required to carry these coupons and the photo identity card used for registration. Pilgrims have to produce the Coupon and Photo Identity Card at the Queue Coupon Verification Counters facilitated exclusively for this purpose at Pampa. Only those who carry 'Verified" coupons are entitled to avail the facilities of Virtual-Q System from Pampa to Sannidhanam.
Virtual-Q-Coupon facility is provided by Kerala Police as a part of Crowd Management which in turn saves precious time for the Pilgrims. This facility is absolutely free of cost to the pilgrims as it is funded by advertisement revenue as permitted by the Govt. of Kerala. Pilgrims without Virtual-Q-Coupon can also have their pilgrimage as in the previous years, through the conventional queue. Pilgrims coming through the Virtual-Queue System are allowed to join the queue at Sannidhanam Nadapanthal.
Sabarimala VirtualQ is an Online Portal for Devotees to book a slot on the separate Queue maintained by Kerala Police. This helps devotees to reach Sannidhanam without waiting in the long queue usually formed at Pampa. The system generate fixed number of coupons for every hour, devotees can plan to reach Pampa on the specified time, and enter on to the queue without any waiting. This dedicated queue will be manned by Kerala Police exclusively for those coming with the VirtualQ coupon. The coupons and ID card will be verified by Kerala Police, before allowing them to enter the Queue.
The availability of slots can be searched by entering the number of Devotees, and the preferred time slots for a month. The slots will be opened on a weekly basis. The search results will show a calender view of the month with the dates in Green colour box, if slots are available. By clicking on the date, available slots for that particular day will be displayed on right side, Devotee can choose a slot from the list. The availability will be displayed here. After this, if you wish to book that slot, Sign up and create your profile first by adding Name, Address, District, Pin Code, Photo ID card, Photo (Upload a jpeg file with less than 30 KB size). The services are rendered to the Pilgrims by the Police Personnel with a sense of devotion and commitment. The duty place spread over a vast area spanning around 100 Sq. Kms of uneven terrain poses major challenges for police functions. A total of 3000 Police personnel will be in the service of Ayyapa Devotees. Instructions
Do's
- Take rest for 5 minutes after a walk of 10 minutes during the climb.
- Use the traditional path – Marakoottam, Saramkuthy, Nadapanthal – to reach Sannidhanam.
- Follow the queue system to reach Pathinettampadi.
- Use the Nadapanthal fly over for return journey.
- Use toilets and latrines for urination and bowel clearance.
- Ascertain the prevailing crowd situation and then only proceed to Sannidhanam from Pampa.
- While using Dolly, make payment only at the Devaswom counter and keep the receipt.
- Subject yourself for security check at security check points.
- Approach police for any help.
- Inform police about any suspicious characters.
- Buy edible items from licensed outlets only.
- Keep Pampa, Sannidhanam and the trekking paths clean.
- Park vehicles only at the allotted parkig slots.
- Deposit waste in the waste boxes only.
- Avail the facilities of medical centers and oxygen parlours if needed.
- Identification cards with address and contact numbers to be hung on the neck of children, aged and malikapurams.
- In case of isolation from groups /friends devotees may report at police aid posts.

- Do not use mobile phones at the temple premises.
- Do not smoke at Pampa, Sannidhanam and enroute.
- Do not consume alcohol or dugs.
- Do not jump the queue.
- Do not rush while in the queue.
- Do not carry weapons or other explosives substances.
- Do not entertain unauthorized vendors.
- Do not urinate outside toilets and clear bowels outside latrines.
- Do not make extra payment for any service.
- Do not hesitate to approach police for any help.
- Do not throw waste anywhere other than the waste bins.
- Do not break coconuts on the Pathinetampadi.
- Do not break coconuts anywhere other than on designated places on both sides of Pathinettampadi.
- Do not kneel at Pathinetampadi while climbing the holy steps.
- Do not use any path other than Nadapanthal flyover for return journey.
- Do not rest anywhere at Upper Thirumuttam or Thanthrinada.
- Do not use pathways for viris at Nadapanthal and lower Thirumuttam.
Security
- Fire crackers are prohibited
- Weapons are not allowed.
- Cooking Gas, Stoves etc should not be used at Sannidhanam.
- Fire if lighted should be put out immediately after use.
- Subject yourself and your baggages for security check before climbing Pathinettampadi.
