A notification was issued here today for appointing District Selection Committee (DSC) to fill up 21343 posts. Applications will be received on line from Feb 15 and the last date for it is March 17. The last for payment of fee is March 16.
Examination will be held for 11602 SGT posts, 5703 School Assistants, 2000 Language Pundits, 365 PET and 1873 Assistant Teachers in municipal bodies. Exam for SGT, Language Pandits and PET posts will be on May 2, for school teachers on May 3, and for model school teachers the written test will be held on May 4.
The minister for higher education Parthasarathi informed that 1002 candidates, who were qualified in the 2008 notification will be issued appointment letters.
Open varsity degrees valid
The minister further informed that the candidates with open university degrees are also eligible for the DSC test. The apprenticeship is discontinued from current DSC he informed and added that a separate notification, outside the purview of DSC, for appointing 7100 teachers’ posts in the model schools. As many as 4300 non-teacher posts will also be filled up through outsourcing, he said.
A GO was also released to effect changes in the eligibility criteria in the teachers’ appointments. Now the government has relaxed a rule that intermediate subject groups need not necessarily be in the graduation groups. Graduates who have passed with horticulture, sericulture, forestry and poultry subjects are also eligible under DSC notification, the minister informed.
TET results
The government has released the results of teachers entrance test qualifying 48 percent under paper one, 57 percent under paper two (Science and Mathematics) and 45 percent under paper two with social studies.
A group of BEd candidates who were taking part in the Rastha Roko in Kurnool at NTR cross roads were caned by the police when they were prevented from entering the District Collectorate. The BED candidates were caned by the police.
