Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday, Parathasarathi said that the Secondary Education proposes to hire about 40,000 people through a mega recruitment process. He said that about 10 to 12,000 posts have already been approved by the Finance Department.
Parathasarathi said that about 27,000 teachers' posts would be filled in the Secondary Education department while the rest would be done in the Primary Education Department. He said about six to seven thousand additional teachers' would be appointed for the model schools. However, he said that the notifications for these recruitments would be issued only after getting the approval of the Finance Department.
The minister also announced that Rs 10 crore would be released for the laboratories in the government junior colleges. He also said the jumbling system would continue in the intermediate examination.
Further, Parathasarathi announced that the Teachers' Eligibility Test would be compulsory for the recruitment of teachers in both government and private schools. (INN)
