Even Rajinikanth can have a bad day. The actor felt uneasy on the sets of his new film Rana, was rushed for medical attention.
Rajinikanth can make everything right. But what happens when the superstar himself isn't feeling too well? Shooting with his Rana leading lady Depika Padukone, yesterday afternoon, Rajini complained of uneasiness and was rushed to Isabella hospital in Chennai.
The day started off fine. After finishing one shot for the mahurat, the 61-year-old actor started feeling a little uneasy. A source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror, "Rajini Sir came to the mahurat on time. But he looked pretty off colour.
He had been unwell since the past two-three days. After some time, he said that he was feeling very uneasy. He was rushed to the hospital. We don't know who went with him and who didn't but his wife Lata was with him for sure. In fact, she had come with him for the mahurat."
However, even the hospital couldn't hold back India 's original superhero for too long. The actor who was suffering from dehydration was given an intravenous drip, before he was discharged around 6.30 pm confirmed a hospital official. "Chennai mein bahut garmi thi, iski vajah se hua hoga. We were shooting at AVM Studio when this happened around 2 pm," said our source.
The actor has been strictly advised bed rest for the next few days. Putting up a brave front, the source from the unit added, "Tomorrow, we don't need Rajini Sir on the set. In fact, the first full week is supposed to be mainly Deepika."
The director of Rana, K S Ravikumar said, "We start with Rajini Sir mainly in the London schedule which is still far away. We might have a few scenes with him in June in Chennai, but that would again depend on the dates of other actors." Obviously, the superstar can now only be present on the sets of the film when the doctors give him the green signal.
"Rajinikanth is a man who takes every film as his first film. I guess he hadn't slept well last night and was very tense when he came to the sets. He is much better now though," added the director.
Produced by Eros International, Rana is a magnum opus that also stars Sonu Sood in a significant role. Two leading ladies apart from Deepika, are yet to be finalised.
Rajinikanth plays a triple role in the film, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu simultaneously sometime next year. Mumbai Mirror wishes Rajinikanth a speedy recovery.
